ICE Sticker

If you’ve come to this page looking to get an In Case of Emergency sticker for yourself, please email me using the address to the right and be sure to include your name and mailing address. As soon as I get a chance, I’ll drop a sticker in an envelope and mail it from the main post office here in Philadelphia (a bit cloak and dagger, I admit, but what can you do).

If you’ve come to this page because you found or otherwise received an In Case of Emergency sticker – Welcome!

I’ve built this page to serve as an introduction to my blog. “Blog,” you say, “what’s that?” Well, you’re on one. The word “blog” is short for web log. It’s basically an online diary. Lots of people post on what’s going on in their lives, funny stories about what their kids are doing, some of the more strange mailboxes they’ve seen (I swear, that’s a real blog), and, in this case, about public health preparedness efforts in the US.

Now you’re asking yourself, “Why should I care what you say about this topic?” Well, there’s no reason to, really. I post on this stuff because I work in the public health sphere and am interested in preparedness efforts. I do it because I enjoy it and would do it even if none of you ever showed up again. I think that I can offer a unique perspective and, to my knowledge, I’m the only blog on the web that’s focused solely on this topic. Other folks out there know way more than I do, and I link to them liberally. Be sure to click those links that you see sprinkled around the website, especially those that are found on my del.icio.us page, as you’ll find some of the best homeland security, public health and preparedness thinking out there.

Now is when you should be thinking to yourself, “Okay, so we’ve established that you’re not trying to give me money from your deposed uncle in Africa, what should I do?” For starters, click on the About link at the top of this page. That will tell you a bit more about me, and how best to read my latest posts. Then click on the Home link next to that. That will take you back to the front page of the In Case of Emergency blog where you’ll see my last five posts in their entirety, and new posts will appear there as I publish them. If you still don’t believe that I’ve got something to say, I’ve included a few links below to those posts that have gotten the most hits and a few that I am particularly happy with.

Check them out, leave a comment, subscribe to my feed, and be sure to tell your friends about me!
