Anyone who had anything to do with hospitals last year could've told you this, but it's nice when science confirms it. Expect that if you don't have that crucial piece of equipment in house, you won't ever get it.
I'm interested in the admittedly only possible reaction some might have to the change in flu shot recommendations, particularly in light of the backlash public health authorities are seeing about H1N1 being a hoax and overblown.
Last year it was imperative that people get their H1N1 flu shot AND the seasonal shot. Now, all they need to get is the seasonal flu shot? I guess H1N1 wasn't that dangerous after all.
All flu today, apparently. I read the CDC's recommendations behind their campaign (I'm not, however, in love with the slogan), and really agree with it. So many of our public health outreach is about not getting sick, as if people can't take it, or it can't happen to them. People do, however, worry about their loved ones. I, for example, never go to the doctor, but take my kids religiously.
